Spanish restaurants and tapas bars in Frankfurt
Many aficionados of Spanish food and lifestyle long for the days of Amadeo and Monica's raunchy and anarchic "Las Tapas" in Nordend, the sleazy "Taberna Sevilla" in the Gallus area or the "Bodega Luciano" in Bockenheim - these were down to earth, no frills, authentic "joints" serving a good fare (sometimes not so good!) and run by Spaniards. Many of actual Frankfurt Spanish restaurants are run by Algerians, Armenians, Serbs, Germans .... you name it. Our favourite, for authenticity - run by a Spanish/Greek couple - is the very simple bodega like, no place to represent, Centro Cultural Gallego just off Konstabler Wache. Further tips - whereby more tapas than restaurant proper - the Andalucia in the Bockenheim district and the, don't get irritated by the name, Weisse Lilie in Bornheim.
Centro Cultural Gallego - An der Staufenmauer 14 (City)
Andalucia - Konrad-Broßwitz-Strasse 4 (Bockenheim)
Weisse Lilie - Berger Strasse 275 (Bornheim)
