Jasper's - French Alsatian restaurant in Frankfurt
Top French restaurant in brasserie style and a Frankfurt favourite.
Frankfurt’s Sachsenhausen district is a far cry from Saint-Germain-des-Prés but the Jasper’s would certainly make “une bonne figure” anywhere along the Boulevard Saint-Michel. Tucked away in a shady courtyard this Belle-Epoque brasserie with mirrored-walls, art-nouveau lamp fittings and red-leather interior is – and has been for years – a treasured secret of Francophiles in the know.
Man behind the perfect compromise of thoughtful and intelligent cuisine, cosy bar and a relaxed atmosphere is the, always good-humoured, Alsatian Michel Bodemann. The small, carefully composed, menu is rooted in France with a few Alsatian highlights like Baeckaoffe (lamb, beef and porc marinated in Riesling and braised with vegetables) and complemented by daily specials according to seasons and markets. The equally small and hand-picked wine offer includes a few exquisite Grand Crus.
With impeccable and professional service as add-on, the perfect place for a dinner-for-two or a business invitation.
