Goethehaus (Goethe House)
The Goethe House, located at Großer Hirschgraben 23 downtown Frankfurt, is the birth place of Frankfurt's most famous son - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The world famous writer was born here in 1749, grew up together with his parents and his sister and returned whenever he felt like his mother's Grüne Soße (Green Sauce). Reportedly, it was also in this house where Johann Wolfgang wrote Götz von Berlichingen and The Sorrows of Young Werther, same as the first version of Faust and many others works.
