Dates for 2018 to be announced
The Schweizer Strasse in Sachsenhausen has a Parisian flair, with many fashionable or kinky stores and "gemütlich" or bohéme restaurants.
Once a year the local gastronomers and shop owners stage a wonderful party - always with a country or region as a theme - with delicious food, lots of music and dance and a fantastic atmosphere - Sachsenhauseners are a merry folk!
Traditionally this fest only lasted a day. Meanwhile the country/region theme has also been dropped.
Since 2016 it now takes place on two days - late June early July always on a Saturday and Sunday.
Despite the abundant offer of food from all corners of the planet at buzzy street stalls, visitors desiring a little more comfort and quietness may escape to nearby sidestreet restaurants - we recommend for lovers of Italian cuisine the wonderful Trattoria Casa Mia. Francophiles looking for that rive-gauche feeling are well taken care of at the Brasserie du Sud.
The Schweizer Straßenfest is organised by the Aktionsgemeinschaft Schweizer Straße e. V.
